The theme this week is

Spring Growth

We will be using the theme of 'Spring' to introduce the children to different areas of learning. If you would like to follow this up at home here are a few ideas to try.

Look out for spring flowers beginning to emerge in gardens and in the parks. Talk about their colours after the cold and grey winter. Make paintings of crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils etc and put them up around your home to bring spring indoors. Is the flower growing that they brought home a few weeks ago?

Make sheep collages by sticking white cotton wool balls onto green paper. Use black felt pen to add feet and a head to the sheep, make some smaller ones and say these are the lambs.

Talk about where wool comes from, visit a shop that sells wool and look at all the different colours. Which balls of wool are the softest? Have you any jumpers etc that have been hand knitted?

Talk about some of the games you played as a child. Ask grandparents to talk about games they may have played in the playground at school such as 'Oranges and Lemons' or 'Grandmother's footsteps'.

'What's inside?' phonics this week is the letter 'o'.
