Pre School Committee

We are a registered charity pre school and are run by a dedicated Committee of volunteers, comprised of parents, carers, and family members of the children currently in attendance. The Committee works closely with staff to ensure the smooth functioning of pre school. We greatly rely on the support and involvement of parents and carers, whether it's lending a helping hand occasionally or actively joining our committee.

Each volunteer on the Committee brings valuable skills that are essential to the operation of our Pre School. Our Committee members come from diverse backgrounds and industries, but previous experience is not necessary to make a difference. Without our Committee, our Pre School wouldn't be able to operate and would have to close

The Committee's responsibilities include:

1. Working within our Governing Document.

2. Being the employers of the staff, though not involved in the day-to-day running of the settings.

3. Managing and administering the finances.

4. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

5. Keeping up-to-date written records.

6. Complying with data protection procedures.

7. Having a duty to safeguard children.

All committee members collectively make financial and other management decisions. For safeguarding purposes, all committee members and volunteers undergo a DBS check. Only elected or co-opted individuals can attend committee meetings, and we aim to have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 12 members, including the Officers: Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Your contribution, no matter how big or small, is vital to maintaining the quality and ongoing success of our pre-schools. Our common purpose and shared interest revolve around providing quality care and education for your children. If you feel like giving back to our community and volunteering for the Committee in any capacity, please reach out to the pre school manager or email us at Committee@stmatthewspreschool.co.uk.

Together, we can create a wonderful learning environment for our children.
